THE USE OF ENCHYTRAEIDAE IN URBAN SOIL BIOMONITORING |
T.S. Smirnova, K.V. Cheloznova, A.A. Galkina
In recent years in urban soils assessment special attention has been paid to biological monitoring methods (bioindication and biotesting). In biotesting as test organisms, hydrobionts are widespread. However, the use of these test organisms for soil analysis involves the preparation of an aqueous extract and its subsequent analysis. An alternative option for biological control of the soil is its assessment using test objects directly living in it, such as pedobionts. A series of experiments were carried out to assess the quality of urban soils using enchytraeus worms (Enchytraeus crypticus) as test objects. Test reactions recorded during the experiment included mortality and a change in the growth of the number of worms. The main experimental results and conclusions are presented in the article.
