REDUCTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE DUE TO THE USE OF WASTE OF NON-FERROUS METALLURGY AND ENERGY IN THE PRODUCTION OF LIGHTWEIGHT REFRACTORIES |
V.Z. Abdrakhimov
Studies show that the use of lightweight refractories in industrial furnaces reduces fuel consumption by 20...70 %, and can be significantly reduced the thickness of the walls and vaults of furnaces. The studies have shown that on the basis of production waste: a) clay part of the «tails» of gravity of zircon-ilmenite ores (GCI) – waste of non-ferrous metallurgy used as a clay binder; b) waste of fuel and energy complex – sludge fl otation coal enrichment – as a desiccant and burning additives without the use of natural traditional materials, allow to obtain high-quality lightweight refractory products. The method of using burn-up additives is the oldest method of producing porous ceramics. The advantage of the method of burning additives is its simplicity. In this way, materials with porosity up to 50...60 % are obtained. The use of multi-tonnage GCI and fl otation coal sludge in the production of lightweight refractory products contributes to the recycling of industrial waste, reducing environmental stress in the regions and expanding the raw material base for the ceramic industry.
