DEVELOPMENT OF A CONCEPTUAL MODEL FOR A DATABASE «WATER RESOURCES» |

The conceptual (logical) design stage is examined in detail using the example of developing the database «Water Resources of the Republic of Bashkortostan». The subject area is studied, which is the collection and systematization of information data and flows for a given subject area, the basic elements involved in this process are also investigated. The main entities, attributes, relationships between entities and primary keys are highlighted. Based on the results of the analysis of the subject area, the following main core entities are identified that are necessary for further database design: District, River, Lake, Swamp, Waterfall, Reservoir, Rodnik, which are the main sources of water resources in this region. The ER-diagram (model) is built, which underlies the logical data scheme. The normalization procedure was performed on the obtained tables, which led to the elimination of such shortcomings and anomalies as redundancy and inconsistency. The physical implementation is implemented using the Borland Delphi program and the Delphi programming language.
