In many countries of the world, increasing attention is being paid to taking effective measures to reduce air pollution by fine suspended particles PM10 and PM2,5. It is recognized that small particles entering the human body and penetrating deep into the respiratory tract cause significant harm to health. Air quality standards for small particles are set in official documents of the world Health Organization who and the European Union, and are used in the document flow of UN organizations. In the Russian Federation, the resolution of the Chief state sanitary doctor of 19.04.2010 N 26 GN 2.1.6.2604–10, supplement N 8 GN 2.1.6.1338–2003 «Maximum permissible concentrations of pollutants in the atmospheric air of populated areas» approved the maximum permissible concentrations of small particles, as well as recommendations related to the organization of a system for monitoring air pollution with fine particles, a critical analysis of which is carried out in this article.
