Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO ECOLOGICAL AND EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT OF TOURIST FLOWS M.A. Sarancha, B.I. Kochurov The management of tourist flows in the modern era of tourism as a mass phenomenon is one of the most important public geographical problems. Since billions of tourists travel every year to travel around the planet and their colossal impact on most environmental components is difficult to overestimate. In addition, this phenomenon tends to further exponential growth. However, in science and practice there is still no qualitative comprehension and a systematic, integrated tool for the holistic management of tourist flows and the associated environmental impacts. In practice, individual measures are most often used, which are rarely systemic. In this regard, the research goal was the development of a model for integrated management of tourist flows. Based on the studied domestic and foreign experience, for the convenience of using the results of the study, a methodology for managing tourist flows is proposed, which consists of fifteen stages: from identifying and characterizing the problem, setting goals to selecting and developing specific measures taken, assessing the risks and forecast associated with them effects, practical implementation. The main role in the methodology and research is occupied by the model of selecting measures to manage tourist flows in space and time based on five strategies (prohibition, resolution, neutrality, support and limitation) and seven approaches (demand, supply, sales, acquisition, consumption-provision, resource and logistics).The proposed model is convenient for use in practice, contributes to the development of the theory and methodology of managing tourist flows.
