Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back LONG-TERM MONITORING OF THE STATE AND ECOLOGICAL FEATURES OF THE POPULATION OF RARE SPECIES PRANGOS TRIFIDA (MILL.) HERRNST. & HEYN. IN SOUTH-EASTERN CRIMEA V.G. Shatko, Yu.N. Gorbunov, V.A. Kryuchkova Prangos trifi da (Mill.) Herrnst. & Heyn. – rare species of floras of Crimea, Russia and Southern Europe. In the Eastern part of the areal in the Balkans, the species is represented by small isolated populations, and only in the Crimea about ten populations of this plant are known, which indicates the special importance of this region for the conservation of this species. The results of 23-year monitoring of the Crimean coenopopulation of P. trifida are summarized. Features of the age spectrum of the studied coenopopulation are established. Analysis of the dynamics of the number of age groups by year showed that it largely depends on the weather conditions of the growing season, in particular on the rainfall and temperature, which is confi rmed by cluster analysis using the J.Y. Ward method. The population density in different years was 12…50 individuals of different ages per 1 m2, the ratio of generative individuals to vegetative – 1:6. The population is full-fledged, normal and stable enough to maintain itself without introducing rudiments from outside. Ecological type P. trifida is characterized by a number of features as follows: main biomorph – polycarpic grass, by the type of vegetation – summer-winter green, according to the structure of shoots – semi-rosette, by branching type – sympodial, by the structure of the root system – deep taproot according to the flowering rhythm – late springearly summer, according to the water regime – xeromesophyte, according to the light regime – heliophyte, according to the salt regime – glycophyte.
