THE LANDSCAPE MIGRATION OF CHEMICAL ELEMENTS |
N.N. Roeva, S.S. Voronich, I.M. Nityaga, I.A. Zaytseva, S.A. Potapov
The article deals with the landscape migration of various chemical elements, mainly heavy metals. From the point of view of geochemistry, migration is the process of movement and redistribution of substances as a result of endogenous and exogenous processes in the constituent parts of the landscape. It is determined by internal (ion characteristics, the form in which the element is present, the chemical properties of the element, its ability to give compounds of different solubility, volatility, hardness, absorbed by organisms, etc.) and external factors: solar radiation, temperature, pressure, alkaline-acid (pH) and redox (Eh) conditions, etc., as well as the basic geochemical Goldschmitt law and the Le-Chatelier principle. As an illustration of the mechanism of landscape migration, the article presents the results of the author’s research on the influence of deicing materials on the state of the soil in one of the districts of Moscow.
Keywords: Landscape; migration; heavy metals; deicing materials; urban soils; Goldschmitt’s geochemical law; leading element.
