Approach to Scots Pine Pinus Sylvestris L. Increment
Parameters Estimation in Boreal Habitats |
Maksimova O.V., Koukhta A.E
An approach to assessment of the increment diversity in different biotopes types and to identifi cation of long-term trends
in changes of the of growth indices variability is presented. The issue is based on material of Scots pine Pinus sylvestris
L. stands from the regional reserve "Polar Circle", located on the coast of the White Sea. It was shown that the radial
increment series parameters do not depend on the biotope characteristics, unlike the linear increment parameters. Trends in
stabilization of linear and radial increments series variability in various boreal habitats have been identifi ed.
The discovered regularities will allow to separate climatically determined responses from the trees interannual individual
variability, i.e. to a certain extent reduce the level of “noise” masking the studied trends in the forest stands conditions.
Besides, the analysis results will afford the correct assessment of the increment responses to the climatic factors infl uencing
during different periods of tree development.
