The Use of High-Tonnage Oil Sludge as a Secondary
Raw Material in the Production of Lightweight
Bricks Based on Bentonite Clay |
Abdrakhimov V.Z.
Oil sludge has increased calorifi c value (Q > 2500 kcal / kg) and carbon content (C > 10 %), therefore, such waste can be
used not only as thinners, but also as burnout additives, which in the process of burning create porosity for the formation
of lightweight bricks. In the presented work, it is recorded that, considering the high sensitivity not only to drying, but to
roasting bentonite clay with its one hundred percent content in ceramic bricks, cracks appear on it after heat treatment, which
inevitably requires the presence of a cleaner in the compositions of products. A ceramic lightweight brick was obtained on the
platform of bentonite clay used as plastic raw materials and large–tonnage waste of the oil industry – oil sludge (oil sludge),
disposed of as secondary raw materials as a thinner and burnout additive. The optimal composition for the production of
lightweight bricks is a composition containing 50 % oil sludge, the resulting brick belongs to the high effi ciency group
according to the coeffi cient of thermal conductivity.
Keywords: oil sludge, porosity, lightweight brick, bentonite clay, technical indicators.
