Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back Organization of an Integrated System for Handling Construction and Demolition Waste Using the Example of the Moscow Region Batalov S.V., Trifonova T.A., Ilyina M.E., Selivanov O.G. This study examines the organization of a comprehensive system for handling construction and demolition waste that has developed to date in the Moscow Region. Record volumes of housing construction, infrastructure facilities, and demolition of dilapidated housing stock as part of the renovation program in this region have resulted in the formation of a huge amount of construction waste, demolition waste, and soil. The lack of civilized handling of this waste and effective technologies for its processing leads to the overfl ow of existing landfi lls, an increase in the number of unauthorized dumps, and causes signifi cant damage to the ecology of the region. Measures are proposed to ensure the effective and high-quality development of the waste management system in this region. On the basis of former regional solid municipal waste landfi lls, it is proposed to create specialized complexes for processing construction waste, demolition waste and soil, including mixed waste, logistically convenient for waste producers, possessing a set of advanced technologies and modern equipment for processing various construction waste, which in the future should become centers of civilized recycling and an integral part of the created infrastructure of the system for handling construction, demolition and soil waste.
