There are several thousand aircraft in the global airspace at one time and aviation events related to safety violations occur daily in the world. The world fl eet of active aircraft has the largest number of Airbus and Boeing models. The paper hypothesizes that the more aircraft of the same type in the world fl eet, the more aviation events occur on them. To test the hypothesis, the paper analyzes aviation events on aircrafts in 2023 in the world according to open source data (Telegram channel «Aviaincident»). The analyzed parameters were the date of the event, the type of aircraft, the route, and the type of aviation event. The results of the analysis showed that the largest number of aviation events occurred on Boeing and Airbus aircraft. A detailed analysis of aviation events by aircraft models revealed the leaders: Boeing 737 and Airbus 320. The main causes of aviation events include the collision of an aircraft with a bird («bird strike») and the failure of the aircraft engine. The distribution of the «bird strike» event by month is related to the bird migration season. The results obtained in the work for 2023 confi rmed the hypothesis.
