It is proposed to use molten gallium, a metal with a melting point of less than 30 °C, as a heavy liquid for gravity enrichment of poor ores
of non-ferrous, noble and rare metals. The gallium melt has a density of ρ = 5900 kg/m3
, which allows separating almost all non-metallic
mineral components with a density lower than that of the gallium melt from heavy metal fractions during gravity enrichment. The same
applies to the enrichment of uranium ores and the regeneration of territories from uranium and plutonium, for which an example of
settling tank calculation is given.
Keywords: gravity enrichment, heavy liquid, gallium melt, uranite, fractional composition, nominal particle diameter, degree of capture,
distribution density, settling tank surface.
