Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back Theoretical Determination of the Characteristics of Raschig Rings Ordered in a High Porosity Column Apparatus Golovanchikov A.B., Zalipaev P.P., Sinenko T.N., Shibitova N.V., Zalipaeva O.A. An ordered loose packing of Raschig rings in a quadrangle around the central ring in a mass-exchange column apparatus is proposed. A formula for determining the porosity of the packing elements under consideration is theoretically derived. The specific surface area of ordered packing and packing with high porosity is determined from the obtained dependencies. Comparative calculations of parameters for the proposed packing arrangement with standard reference values are given. Recommendations are given on the packing arrangement method in mass-exchange apparatuses. The advantages of using the proposed packing method when cleaning highly contaminated gas and liquid media are shown.
