Drastic change of the direction of the velocity vector of slope runoff by means of density planted stem plants (or other barriers of wattle, fascine, timber materials) contributes to a substantial reduction of the scour and transporting capacity of runoff and to the creation of conditions of the ecological stability of the slope relief. Hydraulic calculation of such anti-erosional structures may be carried out by analogy with the calculation model of hydraulic turbines with plane blades, ensuring the damping of the kinetic energy of a forward flow.
