Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back Selenium in urban environment Golubkina N.A., Belova E.N. Industrial, auto and railway transport selenium emission in Moscow were investigated using selenium concentrations in leaves and grass, piped and spring water, serum of blood donors from mechanical plant and plant of dye production. Selenium content in water was in the range of 0,05…2,4 mcg/L, leaves – 88…251 mcg/kg.. Peculiarities of selenium accumulation by grass near high ways and railways were emphasized. Significant selenium emission accompanying the production of dyes and lacquer were proved by high selenium accumulation levels by leaves and human sera, the latter values twice exceeding the background ones.
