NOVEL DEVELOPMENT OF LIQUID PERSONAL BIOAEROSOL SAMPLERS |

On the basis of theoretical and experimental studies of vortex cyclone with recirculation of liquid film promising models of personal biological samplers designed to control the level of industrial pollution in the workplace are developed. Being properly informed on the production level of pollution is one of the main tasks of industrial sanitary and allows making recommendations on optimization of the production processes or introducing appropriate safety measures to prevent occupational risks. The proposed new samplers PAS-4 and PAS-5 provide high capture efficiency of respirable fractions of aerosols including bio-aerosols. The sampler design principle, as well as the use of sorbing liquids provide high survivability and viability of captured microbial cells. The issues of application of various nonaqueous sorbing liquids allowing for many hours of continuous sampling of the microbial aerosol are discussed. By their characteristics, the developed personal samplers are similar to or even better than the existing foreign analogues.
