Ecological Systems and Devices Annotation << Back Influence of industrial emissions of the plant producing technical carbon on pollution of the snow samples by polyaromatic hydrocarbons Sapharova V.I., Khatmullina R.M., Shikhova L.K. The content of policyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) was determined by the HPLC method in soot and snow samples collected from the industrial site of a plant producing technical carbon and the territory adjoining it. The prevalent pollutants found were such compounds as fluoranthene, pyrene, benz(g,h,i)perylene, indeno(1,2,3-c,d)pyrene and benz(a)pyrene. There was established a correlation between the PAH content in soot and a blanket of snow. The density of the pollutant fall-out on the subjacent surface was calculated.
