Assessing nitrogen dioxide air pollution in Ekaterinburg with Land Use Regression model |
K.M. Antropov, A.N. Varaksin
Land Use Regression modeling was used successfully for predicting NO2 concentration in Yekaterinburg, Russia. In summer and autumn 2010 Palmes passive samplers were used to measure pollutant concentration in the 80 points of the city. Created GIS model of the city contained available data about factors affecting the NO2 contamination. Statistical analysis was conducted; statistical model of atmospheric pollution and pollution map were created. Second series of measurements confirmed correctness and model statistical stability. The constructed LUR model has a high quality (coefficient of determination R2=0,69).
Key words: statistical air pollution models; Land Use Regression model; nitrogen dioxide; transport; GIS.
